Global Flag Outreach (GFO)

The introductory course, Global Flag Outreach, teaches participants the art of flagging. GFO consists of three core training modules that are customized for three age groups, 8-11, 12-14 and 15-17. Yellow has been chosen for GFO because it represents new beginnings and growth for students who are learning to flag, strengthen and refine their skills. Training/workshops will be offered over 16-20 sessions, 1.5 to 2.5 hours over the course for 4 months.

The Ripple Effect Program (TRE)

The Ripple Effect is our 4-month mentorship program that teaches students life and leadership skills, through discussions on character, communication, and inclusion. TRE is represented by green for growth. Graduation from TRE means participants are more emotionally, mentally and psychologically prepared for more national and international experiences offered through the highest level of SBF, Kaden Rites of Passage program.

Kraden (Soul) Rites of Passage Program (KRP)

(means Soul name in Akan)

Kraden Rites of Passage (KRP) Program is the core program of the organization. KRP’s goal is to empower youth through discovery and discussion of history, cultures, social problems and political forces surrounding them while using the flags to touch, move, inspire and empower. The program leaders facilitate weekly sessions, build trusting relationships, and offer guidance to the participants as they face the challenges of young adulthood. During the intensive four-to six-year process, students learn critical thinking and global awareness skills through leadership development, conflict resolution, community service and field trips to various cultural communities. Participants will create individual declarations on how they will live their lives.

Graduation from KRP is the highest level of transition through the program and preparedness to share/train youth nationally and internationally. Certificates of Achievements are awarded.

Flag In Parent Engagement Program (FIPE)

Studies show that parent involvement in activities that are effectively planned and well implemented, result in substantial benefits to children, parents, educators and the school. SBF parent/guardian volunteer program allows participants to provide an additional support system for the participant’s home environment.

Sunday Born Flags Charter Chapters (SBF CCs)

Sunday Born Flag Charter Chapters (SBF CCs) will be established in key cities and townships throughout New Jersey and the tri-state area. Charter chapters will support the vision of SBF in that parents are naturally inclined to work together in the places where they live and have a voice in decisions that impact their children’s lives. SBF will create a strong local base of parental support to promote SBF programs from local to international levels.
