So far, I feel like ministering with flags has built my relationship with God.  I learned that flags are instruments of ministry. I have also learned that by ministering with the flags, you are having a conversation with God. Lastly, I want to continue to develop a better relationship with the Lord.

I want to minister in flag ministry because it gives me time to talk to God. Flagging is a way of dancing and giving praise to God. Movement with the instrument is also a way to speak and spend time with God. I love to minister in dance with the flags because this is the way I give praise and worship to God and let other people know that my God is real!

About Tinah Marie

Tinah’s experience in flagging began in 1997 performing with the St. James Pageantry Ministry, a liturgical flagging group at St. James AME, her home church in Newark, NJ. It wasn’t until 2001, at the Prepare Ye The Way Liturgical Dance Conference in Texas, when she was introduced to flagging. Four 3’x5’ flags processed into the room with amazing grandeur. Captivated, Tinah began her journey in flagging. For over 15 years, she has flagged at worship services, weddings, home-going ceremonies and celebrations for women in transition from drug and alcohol abuse. Having flagged throughout the tristate, she’s also flagged abroad at Canberra, Australia’s National Multicultural Festival.
